The journalism students at Jefferson have been hard at work this fall, and their efforts are already paying off. Earlier this fall, last year’s yearbook earned 2nd place honors at the SDHSAA State Journalism Competition, a recognition that reflects the dedication, creativity, and high standards these students bring to every page they design and every story they tell. Carrying that momentum forward is no small task, but this year’s staff has risen to the challenge.
Behind the scenes, the class has been hustling to capture the spirit of Jefferson. The fall section of the 2025 yearbook is complete, packed with thoughtful coverage of the moments that shape our school year. Meanwhile, the newspaper staff has been busy filling our online publication with fresh, student-driven stories highlighting the people, events, and achievements that make Jefferson unique. Seniors, your official senior photos are due February 1st. Please upload your photo at https://forms.gle/uFfnQjGa8iR5yY7F7. If you do not submit a photo, your school photo taken on Cavalier Day will be used.

Parents interested in recognizing their graduates can purchase senior tributes through Infinite Campus. After payment is complete, a yearbook staff member will reach out in January to help collect photos and messages to make your tribute personal and memorable.
