**Fundraising Friday**
This week I have another super easy way to help the school out. Box Tops makes it easy to earn money for your school. You purchase items that have box tops, create a box tops account on the app and then scan your receipt! That’s it! No more saving the pieces and bringing them in to school. Just scan your receipt with the app.
If you have questions please reach out!
Thanks!

Big shout out to all of our lunch helpers for National School Lunch Week! Thank you also to Rebecca and Audrey for all they do! Thanks to our parents who also assist in the lunchroom each day! Also thanks to our custodians for helping keep our lunchroom clean!

Chess Club got started back up this week for All City students in grades 3-5! 27 students signed up! So fun! Thanks to the Yoder family for organizing and David Kerkhove for teaching the kids about chess!! What a great opportunity!

Here are this week’s “High Flying Soaring Eagles!” Thank you for demonstrating qualities of being responsible, respectful, and safe this week! Thanks to all students who worked hard on this!

Plan ahead for our next All City Fundraiser!! Pizza Ranch on Monday, Oct. 17 from 5-8 pm!! Check out the poster for more details!

Here are our “High Flying Soaring Eagles” for the week!! This past week we started implementing a ticket reward system that follows our PBIS behavior plan of being responsible, respectful, and safe! Students could earn a ticket from a teacher/staff if they were displaying one or all of those qualities. At the end of the week, we draw one student from each class and one random teacher to earn a small reward! Congrats to our proud Eagles this week!

What a fantastic afternoon surprise for our All City kiddos when they had students from Lincoln High School (who were celebrating their Homecoming Week) join in their recess activities! Some of these students were even All City alumni! The kids loved watching JT Rock show them his awesome dunks and getting to dunk themselves while other students loved catching up with the other alum on their past experiences at ACE and showing off our new playground to them! So much fun!! Thanks LHS students for coming to visit All City! Come again soon!

Today a few of our local VFW members came to present on Americanism duties like folding the flag, showing respect to the flag, and information about the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. After the presentation, two lucky ACE students were chosen to practice folding the flag. Each third through fifth grader received a bag of goodies including a flag, coloring contest information, and information on a singing competition. A big thank you to the VFW members for teaching our students about Americanism today and thank you for your service!

First School Store was a big success! Kids were all smiles waiting in the long line to get their treats! Parents-Thank you for your patience on Tuesdays when picking up if it takes a little longer! Big thanks to the Rock family for organizing it each week and Tuesday afternoon parents for helping get it ready! Also, thanks to the 4th and 5th graders who help run the stand each week! The proceeds from School Store go towards the 4th and 5th grade end of the year trip!

Happy Custodian's Day on October 2nd! Classes celebrated them today! We are so appreciative of all of the hard work that Dorothy and Habi do for all of us at Jane Addams. They make our school shine and sparkle! Thanks for everything!

Miss Joffer’s first grade class enjoyed time in the Outdoor Classroom doing their math workshop activities! We are so thankful for this space to learn!

Miss Leloux’s third graders enjoyed their first STEM Friday afternoon! In science, students have been learning about force and motion. Students put their learning into action while building a marble race track with their magnetic marble run materials. It was so impressive seeing their creativity come into play through trial and error while building! They also did physical science labs that focused on force and motion using levers, pulleys, and friction. They learned so much and had so much fun doing it! All of these materials were purchased through a grant given to Miss Leloux from the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation! Thank you again to those sponsors!

Excuse us while we brag for a minute… Our Superintendent is pretty talented! Dr. Jane Stavem is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, trumpet player, French horn player, percussionist, xylophone player… oh, and she also plays harmonica! 😉 These talents, along with her deep love for all things Fine Arts, earned her the honor of Parade Marshal for Festival of Bands 2022! We are proud to be lead by someone who values the role extracurriculars play in “preparing each student to succeed in a changing world!”

Updated breakfast and lunch pricing, how to re-apply for free and reduced meals, who gets low fund balance notifications, and an easy and delicious snack mix recipe to try at home. It's all in the October edition of the "What's the Scoop" newsletter from our Child Nutrition Services!

The new Gaga Pit has been a fun addition to our new playground! The kids absolutely love it! Do you know how to play?? If not, ask your ACE kiddo about the rules! We think we finally settled on our official ‘school rules’ of it! 😁 It’s so fun! Ga-Ga-Go!

All City is an unique and special school because of the high parental/family involvement on a daily basis. Each family is required to volunteer in and out of the classrooms for each child that attends ACE. In preparation for that, volunteers are trained by parent leaders/trainers over a course of two weeks. The first week was spent getting trained on classroom routines, the whys of volunteering, and understanding the routine and procedures of our school. The second week was spent in the classrooms practicing with parent modelers what was taught by our superb trainers! We are so grateful for all of the parents who were our trainers and modelers this year! They spent so much extra time preparing for these trainings!! We are so excited to have parents back in our classrooms and helping with all of our fun activities! Thank you again and again parent trainers and modelers!! You are the best!

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Fall Festival on October 28 at 6:30 pm!

On September 23rd, the Memorial Middle School marching band came to perform for the Jane Addams kiddos! It was so fun to see former All City students in the band! It was exciting to have our own little parade!

Thunder Road Fundraiser Update
Big thank you to everyone who was able to come out to Thunder Road for our first fundraiser last Sunday! Everyone had so much fun playing games, bowling, laser tag, outdoor games, and so much more!! In total, we raised $466.50 for All City! Way to go!! Big thank you to Karina Dachtler, our ACE fundraising coordinator, for organizing and Thunder Road/Friez family for hosting this event!

Miss Leloux’s All City 3rd graders and Mrs. Geier’s Elementary Immersion Center 2nd-3rd graders paired up to read together during buddy time out in the Outdoor Classroom outside of Jane Addams! They enjoyed the new comfy yoga mats and adjustable stools (that were a part of an Education Foundation grant received previously) to relax and enjoy a good book together! Thanks again to the sponsors of these items! The kids truly enjoyed them!
