Today we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our beautiful Marcella LeBeau Elementary! As community members, educators, and the LeBeau family gathered together, we were reminded of Marcella LeBeau's lasting impact on our community.

Ryman LeBeau, Marcella's grandson, called on us to uphold her loving soul and belief in the power of education as we prepare to welcome students next week. We are honored to continue the legacy of Marcella LeBeau!

Hey Marcella LeBeau Bears! Meet Marissa Meyer, a 3rd grade teacher! She is one of the staff looking forward to welcoming students in the fall! Get ready for lots of learning and growing in her classroom!

Behind every successful athlete is a dedicated coach! And, Marcella LeBeau teachers will have a cheerleader on their side in Krista Peterka, Instructional Coach! Krista is in her 16th year of education and supports new and veteran teachers to improve classroom instruction and, most importantly, outcomes for students! Yay, Krista! The finishing touches are being put on the new Marcella LeBeau Elementary and in a few short months teachers like Mrs. Davis will be "moving in!" She'll be welcoming students in the RISE program, where we create accessible learning opportunities for students who need additional support.

May 1 is National Principals Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible school leaders who shape our schools every day! We are so grateful for ALL of our Sioux Falls School District principals, whose dedication creates thriving schools in our District! First grade will be super fun with Ms. Creviston at Marcella LeBeau Elementary! This first year teacher is ready to embrace her students and lead them in their learning! Ms. Creviston will see YOU on the first day!

Warm smiles from Ms. Schaffner will greet students on the first day of school this fall at Marcella LeBeau Elementary! First year and first grade! McKayla Hanson will definitely be making students her #1 priority at Marcella LeBeau Elementary! (OK, her husband and her dog rank right up there, also!) Marcella LeBeau 5th Grade students will soon be greeted each school day by teacher Abby Bruck, who is in her third year in the classroom! Ms. Bruck says she is inspired by a current coworker. "The positivity, motivation and innovation she brings to the classroom is a true testament to the saying 'if you love what you do, it is never really work.'" Ms. Bruck also coaches swimming and she loves the drive and determination of others with whom she coaches. Welcome to the Marcella LeBeau Elementary Family, Ms. Bruck!

A sweet treat and sunshine make this teacher tick! We are excited to bring Linden Hiller in to the Marcella LeBeau Elementary Family! She will teach 4th grade and brings 12 years of experience into the classroom. Welcome, Ms. Hiller!
